LEONARD PELTIER HEALTH CRISIS

Leonard Peltier Health Alert Action this week

THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING!

Leonard Peltier has been diagnosed with an Abdominal Aortic Aneurism. This is very dangerous because if it bursts, he could bleed to death. We need the help of all his supporters as he is being slowly executed from medical neglect. The FBI framed him on manufactured evidence in retaliation for his opposition to Uranium mining on the Pine Ridge reservation. If he lives until February 6th, 2016, he will have served 40 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He is being kept in a maximum security facility in Coleman Florida, where frequent lock downs have kept him from receiving the medical care that is his basic human right.

Leonard is 71 years old and has multiple health problems. He desperately needs to be transferred to a medium security facility, but more urgently he needs surgery for his condition and a good surgeon.

“We would expect the Bureau of Prison to act with utmost urgency, but have long ago learned not to get our hopes up for speedy action. The last time I visited Leonard was June 2015. During our visit Leonard put his hand on his abdomen and said ‘I know something is wrong in here.’ He then went on to describe symptoms of this condition. Leonard had described his illness to the medical staff at Coleman USP I prior to June 2015.” --  Peter Clark, co-chairman of the International Leonard Peltier Defense Committee.

If you have ever supported Leonard Peltier, we need you to voice your concern this week about his lack of adequate medical treatment. Let the Bureau of Prisons know that a world of concerned citizens is watching and we will not tolerate Leonard’s death by medical neglect. Please write, fax a letter or make a call this week.

Please contact the Federal Bureau of Prisons and make reference to Leonard Peltier #89637-132 and USP Coleman I Be respectful, but firm. The situation is life threatening.

To request a transfer to medium security in a location that will afford Leonard quality health care.
